Built on the CodeIgniter PHP framework following MVC architecture. The application manages products, categories, and transactions through a MySQL relational database. The cashier interface provides quick item lookup and cart management, while the admin panel handles reporting with daily, weekly, and monthly sales summaries.
Two cashiers processing orders simultaneously could read stale inventory counts, leading to overselling. MySQL transactions with row-level locking on the products table resolved this, ensuring stock deductions were atomic.
